Comey's penis monologue

BULLY BOY PRESS &   CEDRIC'S BIG MIX -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

FORMER F.B.I. DIRECTOR JIMMY COMEY CORN AND I DON'T CARE TESTIFIED BEFORE CONGRESS TODAY AND REVEALED THERE'S REALLY NO STORY HE HAS TO TELL.

HE DID, HOWEVER, REVEAL THAT DONALD TRUMP CAUSED HIM TO LEAK.

WHAT CAN HE SAY, THE PENIS WANTS WHAT THE PENIS WANTS.

FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Do you fear yet for Iraq's future?

Because you should.

A message has been sent.

Just like one was sent after Nouri al-Maliki lost the 2010 election but wouldn't step down and Barack Obama, then-US president, went around the Iraqi people to give Nouri a second term via The Erbil Agreement.

Within two years, Barack had turned on Nouri.

After Barack won the 2012 election, Nouri called to congratulate him and Barack refused to take the call, palming it off instead on Joe Biden.

It would be two more years (2014) before Barack would publicly rebuke Nouri.

Those millions Barack's going to get for his superficial tract on his life in the White House should warrant a little honesty on Iraq and especially on Nouri.

By 2010, Nouri's use of torture and secret prisons were well known.

But Barack chose to give him a second term.

ISIS would most likely never have gotten a foothold in Iraq were it not for Nouri's second term.

(Nouri's responsible for the rise of ISIS but I say "most likely" because Nouuri's far from the only despot in Iraq and someone similar to Nouri could have also precipitated the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq.)

When Barack's door step is finally released, Nouri al-Maliki should figure prominently in it.

As should Barack's sleight of hand with regards to the Iraq War.

A bunch of silly fools enlisted into The Cult of St. Barack.

They believed he'd end the Iraq War.

That's on them.

Barack didn't end it.

And they're still in denial.

I can understand being temporarily fooled.

Elaine and I met him when he was trying to get into the US Senate.

And the hype laid down had us both excited.

But all he had to do was say that the US was already in Iraq and blah blah blah for us to realize he wasn't anti-war and that embarrassing and sparsely attended 'big' speech of 2002 didn't matter.

If Barack was honest about ending the Iraq War, I would have supported his Senate run.

If he were honest, I would have turned this site, in 2007 and 2008, over to non-stop Barack -- one long running infomercial.

But he was a liar.

And it's amazing that eight years later, as the Iraq War continues, his Cult still can't get honest.

And I've been kind enough.  Stop pretending you couldn't have known.

Why Comey couldn't be alone with Trump

BULLY BOY PRESS &   CEDRIC'S BIG MIX -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

TOMORROW, FORMER FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY IS SET TO TESTIFY BEFORE CONGRESS.

AND IT'S GOING TO BE A DOOZY!!!!

TODAY, HE RELEASED HIS PREPARED REMARKS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE RECORD AND THEY INCLUDE THAT HE BEGGED ATTORNEY JEFF SESSIONS NOT TO LEAVE HIM ALONE WITH U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP.

THOUGH HE DID NOT EXPAND ON THIS IN HIS WRITTEN REMARKS, HIS BOY-PAL MIKE MORELL GAVE THESE REPORTERS AN EXCLUSIVE.

"JIMMY DID ASK JEFF NOT TO LEAVE HIM ALONE WITH DONALD," MORELL STATED. "JIMMY SAID DONALD WAS 'SO HOT' AND THAT HE COULDN'T TRUST HIMSELF AROUND DONALD.  'I'M MARRIED!  I CAN'T BETRAY PATRICE! BUT THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT THE WAY HE TOSSES THAT GOLDEN HAIR WITH SUCH CONFIDENCE, IT DESTROYS ME."

    AND NOW WE KNOW.

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Oh, look, King Punk Ass HoDe (Howard Dean) rediscovers Iraq -- for a second, to attack Trump.

(We dealt with the nonsense HoDe's promoting and screeching about -- dealt with it in yesterday's snapshot.)

Howard Dean's just one more fake ass punk.

Just a piece of crap who pretended to be left.

    Remember 2004?

    Remember his talk about Iraq?

The Iraq War continues but Howard Dean's not going to call that out.

    He's a fake and a liar.

I've made many mistakes in my life but falling for carny barker Howard Dean was never one of them.

Numerous friends supported him so I made a point to catch one of his rallies.

I saw an empty suit who could grab whatever was in the headlines to get some attention.

    I don't admire whores.

Senators Patty Murray and Tammy Baldwin work.

    They're work horses.

They grab numerous issues and stick to them, working on them constantly.

    Some pay off, some don't.

    But they work.

I found it very telling that MS. MAGAZINE repeatedly ignored both women to promote chattering heads in Congress who never worked a bill a day in their life.

But that's what the media 'covers' -- what's 'hot.'

Not what's important, not what matters.

We have a superficial country and superficial politicians because we have a superficial media.

Howard Dean's 2004 words should haunt him.  They should be hung around his neck and he should be forced to address Iraq on a daily basis.

In the House, Tulsi Gabbard -- like Murray and Baldwin in the Senate -- works constantly.

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

    BBC NEWS reports:

Iraq has opened an inquiry into claims that its forces abused and killed civilians in the battle for Mosul against so-called Islamic State (IS).
An interior ministry statement said it would take legal measures against anyone proven to have been "negligent".
It comes after Der Spiegel published an article by a photojournalist who was embedded with the ministry's troops.
Ali Arkady says he took pictures of detainees suspended from ceilings and that others were tortured and raped.

Wait, wait!  Abuses?  And it wasn't reported by Rukmini Callimachi?

Of course, it wasn't reported by her.  She's THE NEW YORK TIMES' new Judith Miller -- as we pointed out February 10th.

Rukmini is very popular with Glenn Greenwald but then so was the Iraq War once upon a time.

Rukmini poured propaganda out her blow hole and the usual saps lapped it up like it was 2002 all over again.

Rukmini Callimachi fans should be suspect.

Especially if, like Glenn Greenwald, they got it wrong in real time (he supported the Iraq War).

There's a barrier between those people and critical thought.

    REUTERS notes:

Iraq's interior minister on Wednesday ordered an investigation into allegations that members of the security forces had tortured, killed and abused civilians in the campaign to oust Islamic State militants from Mosul.
The inquiry was in response to a report by the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel last week that included images of apparent torture taken by a freelance photographer embedded with the Interior Ministry's elite Emergency Response Division (ERD).

Photographs showed detainees accused of affiliation with Islamic State hanging from the ceiling with their arms bent behind them, and the journalist wrote of prisoners being tortured to death, raped and stabbed with knives.

    - SPIEGEL photographer Ali Arkady documents Iraqi security forces abducting, torturing, raping, & killing Sunnis around .

Rukmini was too busy socializing to get the job done.  But, hey, she got a lot of free meals, didn't she?

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

    Day 211.

It was supposed to last mere weeks, remember?

But it was also supposedly launched to save the citizens of Mosul.

Not a lot of concern for those civilians these days.

    Human Rights Watch notes:

The Iraqi army and other local security forces have forced over 300 displaced families to return to west Mosul neighborhoods still under risk of attack by the Islamic State (also known as ISIS), Human Rights Watch said today. The families, who had fled to the Hammam al-Alil and Hajj Ali camps for displaced people, are severely short of water, food, electricity, and medical assistance.
Displaced residents, camp staff in Hammam al-Alil, and three federal police officers said that families were returned to certain west Mosul neighborhoods to make room for newly displaced people from more recently retaken neighborhoods of west Mosul. But aid workers involved in camp management and United Nations assessments of camp capacity indicated that the camps still have space for new arrivals.
“People from western Mosul fled some of the worst fighting there and finally found safety, only to be forced back to areas still under ISIS fire,” said Lama Fakih, deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. “These families should not be forcibly returned to unsafe areas and areas that lack adequate water, food, electricity, or health facilities.”

The UN Guiding Principles on internal displacement state that all internally displaced people should be able to choose where they live and have the right to be protected against forcible return to any place where their life, safety, liberty, or health would be at risk.

The Mosul Slog slogs along.  What happens after?

Muhanad al-Saleh and Qassim Abdul-Zahra (AP) remind:

Sunni resentment over disenfranchisement and the rise of Shiite power after the 2003 ouster of Saddam Hussein fueled an insurgency and gave a foothold to al-Qaida. The U.S. military, backed by Sunni tribal fighters, largely crushed al-Qaida. But Sunni bitterness over continued discrimination by Shiites helped in the subsequent rise of the Islamic State group. Each time, the rise of militants only deepened Shiite suspicions that the Sunnis cannot be trusted.
U.S. officials backing Baghdad in the fight against IS have warned repeatedly that the same could happen again now unless the government is made more inclusive.

A prominent Sunni lawmaker, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, said Iraq could fall apart unless a "historic compromise" is reached.

Former prime minister and forever thug Nouri al-Maliki oversaw the persecution of the Sunnis from 2006 to 2014.  He wants back in.  It's reported that he's attempting to state he's the only one who can prevent the partition of Iraq into three areas (Shi'ite, Sunni and Kurd).  Nouri did not want to step down in 2014.  It's interesting that he thinks he can be prime minister again, after two terms, considering the Iraqi Constitution.  But Nouri intends to stoke fear in an effort to be back as prime minister.

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Day 209 of The Mosul Slog.

map update. Green= completely liberated. Orange= frontline clashes. White= control.

Back in October, when it began, it was supposed to take a few weeks.

209 days later, it still continues.

And it's not even the biggest issue in Iraq.

Let's again note Ben Connable, Natash Lander and Kimberly Jackson's "Beating the Islamic State: Selecting a New Strategy for Iraq and Syria" (RAND CORPORATION):

Root Causes Can Be Bypassed or Suppressed, But Doing So Ensures Lasting Instability

    • Failure to address root causes may mean that instability and violence will outlast any individual armed group. Yet there is little appetite for the effort required to address root causes in Iraq and Syria. Current strategy has thus taken a middle-ground approach that does not truly reflect U.S. understanding of irregular war.
    • The research centered on the two prominent theories about root causes in Iraq and Syria, disenfranchisement and the effects of ethnosectarian discord. While the latter does have an influence, but the deeper cause in these two countries is disenfranchisement from the central governments and from the protections they should be providing their entire populations.
    • Debate over what to do about disenfranchisement is growing; this report argues shifting toward political action while maintaining military pressure against IS.

    And among the key findings:

  • The best way to reduce and, eventually, end insurgency and terrorism is to address root causes or, at least, to establish legitimate and capable governance. Stability is most consistent and enduring when it emerges naturally from popular satisfaction with governance and other socioeconomic conditions, rather than from government oppression or military action by external powers.
  • The legitimated stability option acknowledges that the best way to reduce and, eventually, end insurgency and terrorism is to address root causes or, at least, to establish legitimate and capable governance. The aim of this strategy is to establish legitimate governments in Iraq and Syria. Each government would be capable of addressing Sunni disenfranchisement while protecting the rights of all other groups. Ultimately, strong and legitimate central governments — perhaps federated or confederated to address regional challenges within each state — will reduce the current, dangerous emphasis on ethnosectarian identity politics and violence.

  • Sectarianism is destroying Iraq.

    And has been destroying Iraq.

And it's the issue that never gets dealt with.

Remember the 18 benchmarks the White House created in 2007 to measure success in Iraq?

Most people appear to have forgotten them.

CNN noted in September 2007, "The benchmarks were created by lawmakers as part of a $120 billion war-spending bill passed in May, which asked the GAO -- the investigative arm of Congress -- to give a definitive answer as to whether each benchmark was met or not, instead of reporting partial progress."

One of the benchmarks was national reconciliation.

And ten years later, that's still not happened.

Ten years later, it's still the biggest threat to security in Iraq.

Ten years later, ISIS is being fought because of it and ISIS took root in Iraq because of it.

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

What lies do they teach in high school to instill pride in US institutions these days?

Many high school students—soon to register for the draft—have never known a U.S. not at war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

    How do you sell that?

    Endless wars.

Iraq didn't attack the US, neither did Afghanistan.

But one war is 14 years old and the other is 16 years.

    Can't sell them as 'success.'

Successful wars don't last over a decade.

Can't sell them as defense -- again, neither country attacked the US.

Over a million Iraqis killed before this decade even started.

Maybe you could try 'humanitarian' but you'd probably have to quickly add "gone deadly wrong."

How do you sell these wars?
