Keith Olbermann's tough night

BULLY BOY PRESS & CEDRIC'S BIG MIX -- THE KOOL-AID TABLE   DRUNK ON 2 WINE COOLERS, PISSED THAT HIS TEA ROOM WASN'T OPEN ALL NIGHT AND DESPERATE FOR A BRAWL, MSNBC'S KEITH OLBERMANN STAGGERED THROUGH THE STREETS.   FINALLY, HE FOUND SOMEONE.  HE'D KICK THEIR ASS!   THE WOMAN LOOKED TO BE A LITTLE OVER FIVE FOOT TALL, NOT A FULL INCH OVER, BUT A BIT OVER.  HE'D HAVE TO KNOCK HER CANE OUT OF HER GRIP BUT HE FIGURED HE HAD LUCK AND SPEED ON HIS SIDE, SHE MUST BE AT LEAST 82.   PUFFING OUT HIS MAN BOOBS HEAVY CHEST, KEITH OLBERMANN ATTEMPTED TO STRUT UP TO HER.   "LISTEN, LITTLE SISTER," HE SNARLED, "I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!"   THE WOMAN LOOKED AT HIM, SLAPPED HIM ACROSS THE FACE AND KEITH RAN OFF WHIMPERING.   "NO GOOD PUNK," MUTTERED THE WOMAN.       FROM THE TCI WIRE:     Starting with war resistance.   May 21st was when Corey Glass was told he would be deported. Glass is an Iraq War vet and a US war resister in Canada.  He was to be deported today.  Now he's been 'extended' through July 10th.  June 3rd Canada's House of Commons voted (non-binding motion) in favor of Canada being a safe harbor for war resisters. And people and organizations are fighting very hard for Glass and other war resisters to be welcomed in Canada, not deported. Sault This Week carries the following:   FROM LEE ZASLOSKY, coordinator, War Resisters Support Campaign: The Opposition parties in the House of Commons joined together to adopt a recommendation which, if implemented, would make it possible for U.S. Iraq War resisters to obtain permanent resident status in Canada.         The recommendation was adopted by a majority of Members of Parliament from the Liberal, Bloc Quebecois, and New Democratic Parties. The Conservatives voted against the motion.    The motion, which originated in the House of Commons Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration in December 2007, calls on the government to "immediately implement a program to allow conscientious objectors and their immediate family members...to apply for permanent resident status and remain in Canada; and...the government should immediately cease any removal or deportation actions...against such individuals."           Corey Glass, 25, a war resister who came to Canada in 2006 and was recently told to leave Canada by June 12 or face removal to the United States, welcomed the vote. "I'm thankful that the MPs voted to let me and the other war resisters stay in Canada. I'm also thankful to all the Canadians who urged their MPs to support us."
