She's got an ointment for that

BULLY BOY PRESS &   CEDRIC'S BIG MIX   -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

TODAY ON ABC'S GABFEST THE VIEW, THE LADIES OFFERED THAT BILL AND CRANKY CLINTON WERE "A LIABILITY" TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND A "VIRUS" ON THE PARTY.

REACHED FOR COMMENT BY THESE REPORTERS EARLIER TONIGHT, CRANKY DECLARED, "VIRUS?  DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY OINTMENTS I KEEP ON HAND?  IF YOU WERE MARRIED TO HIM, YOU'D HAVE A CABINET FULL TO!"

FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Starting with Kevin de Leon.

I'm running for the U.S. Senate because you deserve a seat at the table. Please join my campaign:

Once again, fellow Democrats - it’s time we take California values to Washington, D.C., not the other way around.

  • We all deserve a leader who will take our climate action to Washington, fight each and every day to protect our human and civil rights, our immigrant families and Dreamers, champion universal healthcare and create good paying middle class jobs.

  • The outcome of last night’s endorsement vote is an astounding rejection of politics as usual. A signal to Washington that we stand shoulder-to-shoulder against a complacent status quo.

  • Thank you delegates for an inspiring weekend. Regardless of how you voted last night, know that I am grateful for the time I spent with each and every one of you sharing our values and our vision for the future of CA.

At Saturday's state convention here in California, "Your time is up!" is the chant that greeted sitting US Senator Dianne Feinstein.  And, to no one's surprise, the convention failed to endorse her.  54% of the delegates voted for challenger Kevin de Leon and only 37% voted for the incumbent Deadly Dianne.

Dianne's infamous as a War Hawk and War Monger.  She voted for the Iraq War, to cite but one example.

Dianne has a pace maker.  She turns 85 in June.  If elected to another term, it's doubtful she could finish it but, if she did, she'd be 91 years-old when it ended.

    Long in the tooth?

    That's putting it nicely.

A Canadian-bot thinks she can stick her nose in our state election -- even though she's Canadian and doesn't live in California.  She's lying that Dianne Feinstein protected her rights -- hard to see how but Audrey Regan's m.o. appears to be lie big.

Here's some truth about Kevin de Leon:

    Women’s Advocate
When Planned Parenthood advocated this year for an increase in higher Medi-Cal reimbursement rates for reproductive health care, Senator de León carried their fight into budget negotiations and secured $50 million from Proposition 56 tobacco tax revenue.
Guided by a strong belief in a woman’s right to control her own health care, Senator de León has been stalwart defender for preserving federal funding for family planning as a Republican-led Congress continues to target Planned Parenthood for defunding.
Senator de León’s strong and unwavering advocacy for access and choice has been recognized by Planned Parenthood with a consistent 100 percent voting record and numerous awards, with special recognition in 2014 for legislative leadership.
Alarmed by the serious problem posed nationwide by sexual violence on college campuses, Senator de León set out to find solutions for California.
In 2014, his bill to prevent sexual assault on college campuses was first law in the nation to require affirmative consent, earning him the recognition from Marie Claire last year as one of the “ten biggest supporters of women’s right in U.S. government.” Ms. Magazine selected his “yes means yes” measure as the most significant legislative victory on behalf of women for 2014. He followed up with legislation in 2015 that requires public high schools teaching health education classes to include sexual assault prevention in their curricula.
Also in 2015, he empowered women in the workforce with state budget funding for thousands of more slots for subsidized child cares.

California doesn't need a 90-year-old War Hawk representing us.  Time to send the Depends wearing great granny to the home she belongs in -- hint, that home is not a house of Congress.

Kevin de Leon is a clear alternative to Dianne Feinstein.  They'll face off in about four months in the state primary -- they're competing for the state's US Senate seat.  The top two in the primary -- it's an open primary, not a party primary -- will be on the ballot in November 2018.

Kevin's only liability currently is name recognition across the state.  Between now and November that can be easily rectified.  Dianne's biggest liability for voters in our state?  Her advanced age.  Many hoped she would announce her retirement.

As Casey Tolan (MERCURY NEWS) reported last April:

She’s the oldest U.S. senator, and she’s staggeringly popular with her constituents — at least until you remind them that she’s the oldest U.S. senator.
Then voter enthusiasm dips for 83-year-old Dianne Feinstein, according to a new poll, and the dip may be enough to raise some questions about a Feinstein run for a sixth term in 2018.
    [. . .]
But among voters who were reminded that Feinstein will turn 84 next year, that dropped to 38 percent, with 62 percent saying another Feinstein campaign would be bad for the state.
“Even though I myself am up there in years, there comes a time — particularly in political circles — to allow younger people to come up,” said John Hansen, 79, of Castro Valley, who calls himself a big admirer of Feinstein but thought it was time for her to make room for someone younger.

Give her the gold watch and send her home.

Getting rid of an Iraq War supporter like Dianne Feinstein is especially important as the war continues with no end in sight.

BULLY BOY PRESS &   CEDRIC'S BIG MIX   -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

BULLY BOY BUSH HAS SLITHERED OUT FROM UNDER HIS ROCK TO DECLARE THAT THE RUSSIA SCARE IS BASED ON REALITY AND TRUTHS.

REACHED FOR COMMENT, CRANKY CLINTON TOLD THESE REPORTERS, "EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN BECAUSE IT'S BULLY BOY BUSH!  I BELIEVE HIM!  JUST LIKE I BELIEVED HIM ABOUT IRAQ BEING INVOLVED IN 9/11 AND HAVING WMDS!"

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Remember all that talk of changed mission for forces remaining in Iraq?

It's not as safe as they made it sound, is it?

Again, not the way the US press has been spinning.  Imagine that.

And US war planes continue combat missions (dropping bombs) over Iraq.

The Iraq War continues.  Next month is the 15th anniversary.

My son was an infant when we went to war with Afghanistan and 3 when I deployed to Iraq. More than 16 years later, veterans like myself are facing the possibility of sending our children to fight in the same wars we engaged in.

15 years and still no talk of pulling all US troops out of Iraq.

A "drawdown," yes.  That means some troops out (to go to Afghanistan) -- not all.  And the request is for those to be replaced by NATO troops.

    Nothing really changes.

    The fakers just keep faking.

    Hillary loves her some predators

BULLY BOY PRESS &   CEDRIC'S BIG MIX   -- THE KOOL AID TABLE

THE EVER CRANKY CLINTON TOOK TIME OUT FROM SH**TING IN THE WOODS TO SPEAK TO THESE REPORTERS ABOUT HER LATEST ENABLING OF A PREDATOR.

"EXCUSE ME, BUT I WAS BREAKING THE GLASS CEILING," CRANKY BARKED AT THESE REPORTERS BETWEEN TAKING BITES OF A LIVE PARROT THAT LOOKED A GREAT DEAL LIKE TWEETY BIRD.  "THAT'S A LOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN SOME TOOTSIE IN A PUSH UP BRA FEELING LIKE SHE'S BEING HARASSED.  BEING HARASSED?  SHE SHOULD HOPE TO BE HARASSED ON MY BEHALF.  I'M ALL ABOUT ME-ISM, NOT FEMINISM.  ME FIRST.  ME ALWAYS.  ME FOREVER."

AS FOR THE FACT THAT THE MAN SHE COVERED UP FOR IN 2008, HER FAITH ADVISOR BURNS STRIDER AND HE CONTINUED TO HARASS WOMEN AS LATE AS 2016.

CRANKY REMAINS DEFENSIVE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND INSISTS, "I NEVER SAID 'I'M WITH YOU,' THE SLOGAN WAS 'I'M WITH HER.'  THAT'S ME.  HILLARY CLINTON.  ME.  YOU WERE WITH ME.  I WAS NOT WITH YOU.  SO IF A FEW LITTLE BIMBOS GOT HURT ALONG THE WAY, TOO BAD.  THIS WAS ALL ABOUT ME!"

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

Abd al-Falah al-Sudani is said to be in Iraqi custody.   al-Sudani served in Nouri al-Maliki's Cabinet of Ministers from 2006 through 2009.  He was brought down by corruption charges.  As Minister of Trade, he first tried to pin the corruption in the ministry on underlings.  When that wasn't good enough and after the Parliament gave him a vote of no-confidence (stripping him of his immunity) he tried to flee the country in May of 2009.

May 30, 2009, Mohammad Tafeeq (CNN) reported:

Abdul Falah al-Sudani was aboard a flight to Dubai from Baghdad International Airport when police contacted the pilot and told him to fly back to the airport, Sabah al-Saedi, chairman of Iraq's parliamentary integrity committee told CNN. Al-Sudani -- arrested on a warrant issued in Samawa on Saturday -- was seized after the plane landed, al-Saedi said.

AP reports, "The fight against corruption is emerging as a major issue in Iraq, with many Iraqis convinced that graft and government mismanagement are nearly as a great a threat to the country as armed insurgency."

Excuse me, AP reported -- reported that back in May of 2009.

It's a cute little game the Iraqi government plays -- regardless of who heads it -- this interest in preventing corruption.

al-Sudani is a member of Dawa, the political party of both former prime minister Nouri al-Maliki and the current prime minister Hayder al-Abadi.  Whenever an election is approaching, suddenly Iraq's prime ministers care about corruption.  In May of 2009, elections were supposed to take place later that fall.  They were pushed back when the election law could not be approved in time -- this was due to then-Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi using his power to veto the bill due to the vast number of Sunni refugees that would not be allowed to vote under the proposal.  Sunni refugees will again be denied the vote if elections are held this May but apparently no one wants to stand up and defend them.

The arrest of al-Sudani received a great deal of press attention.

Dropping back to May 30, 2009's "al-Sudani arrested:"

Questioning the minister of trade was a real big and new event for Iraqis who used to see the corrupt officials always abroad. During the last two week, the story of corruption was the main story of all Iraqis. The corruption in the Iraqi governmental departments dominated the conversations of all Iraqis. Some Iraqis started giving suggestions and solutions about fighting corruption.

Writes an Iraqi correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers in "One good but small step" (Inside Iraq).

    Abed Falah al-Sudani

The Trade Minister Abed Falah al-Sudani resigned earlier this week in order to avoid charges brought by Parliament. Liz Sly (Los Angeles Times) reports that didn't quite work out the way he planned as al-Sudani attempted to leave Iraq by plane but the plane was ordered back "mid-flight":

When the plane landed at Baghdad's airport, Abdul Falah Sudani, the country's trade minister until he was forced to resign last week, was promptly arrested.
Sudani is charged with procuring substandard foodstuffs for Iraq's food-ration program, but the allegations against his ministry go beyond that. Omar Abdul Sattar, a member of the Iraqi parliament's anti-corruption committee, said the sums stolen could amount to "hundreds of millions of dollars."

Sly notes that in 2006, the Electricity Minister made it out of Iraq, from a jail cell in fact, and moved on to Chicago. Rather amazing when you consider how difficult it is and was for Iraqi refugees to make it to the US. BBC adds of today's arrest: "Officials said Abdul Falah Sudani had been on a flight to the United Arab Emirates which was asked to turn back to Baghdad so he could be arrested." Nada Barkri (Washington Post) reports:

The arrest warrant accuses Sudani, a 62-year-old dual British-Iraqi national, of stealing public money and mismanaging the ministry by importing expired foods and employing his relatives, including two brothers.
Authorities have issued hundreds of arrest warrants this year, 51 of which are against senior officials, as disenchantment grows over widespread and brazen corruption thought to run into the billions of dollars. Sabah al-Sudani, the minister's brother, was arrested this month in southern Iraq after being caught with $150,000, $50,000 of which he tried to use to bribe a policeman to let him go. The other brother, Majid al-Sudani, remains at large.
Sudani's resignation came two days before he appeared before parliament to answer questions about corruption in his ministry. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki waited until after the questioning to accept the resignation.

Strangely, or really not so strange, when he escaped from the country later, it received far less attention.  Just as the Minister of Electricity had 'escaped' in 2006 (following the 2005 elections), al-Sudani 'escaped' following the 2010 elections.

It's a big pretense, this fakery.

Hayder al-Abadi has had years to address corruption and has nothing to show for it but, elections are coming up, so he puts on a show.

    Does that sound cynical?

Well Hayder's now in campaign mode.

    But he wasn't in September.

And it was September 10, 2017 when al-Sudani was apprehended in Beirut.

A return then would have been lost while ISIS held major areas in Iraq.

But now, with elections due to be held in less than four months, al-Sudani's return to Iraqi custody is news and news that Hayder will attempt to use as evidence that he fights corruption.

Today, ALSUMARIA notes that Iraqi authorities went to Beirut and retrieved him this week.

    Again, for show.

FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL LORETTA LYNCH IS COMING UNDER CRITICISM FOR CLEARING HILLARY CLINTON BEFORE THE F.B.I. HAD COMPLETED THE INVESTIGATION OR EVEN SPOKEN TO HILLARY.

REACHED FOR COMMENT BY THESE REPORTERS, LYNCH RESPONDED, "WHAT?  THAT'S NOT NORMAL?  I THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL.  WHEN I SPOKE WITH BILL CLINTON ABOUT THIS ON THE PLANE, WE BOTH AGREED IT WAS NORMAL.  IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME TO BE NORMAL.  OR AT LEAST TO APPEAR NORMAL -- AND INNOCENT."

    FROM THE TCI WIRE:

This week BLACK AGENDA RADIO shared a speech by Margaret Kimberley discussing the permanent war and the lack of resistance to war from the so-called 'Resistance.'

    Let's dive into Iraq.

Yesterday afternoon REUTERS published an embarrassing article.  It opens:

Iraqi authorities on Thursday took into custody a former trade minister convicted in absentia for corruption cases, following his extradition from Lebanon, Iraq’s corruption watchdog said in a statement.

Yes, that is the story we covered yesterday morning -- before REUTERS.

We didn't have to wait for 'authorities' to issue 'a statement.'

Don't know when that became necessary to report on something.

They also fail to note that this ex-Minister of Trade September apprehension is unusual in that he's only released to Iraq in time for Hayder al-Abadi to use it as election propaganda.

    They re-wrote a government release.

    Somehow that passed for reporting.

They didn't even get his history correct.

At least they can say they covered it.  That's more than any other western outlet has done.

Mina Aldroubi (THE NATIONAL) does a better job covering the story.
